Rootsy House Sessions

Its about time I give an update on all things music, and life.

I've been in hibernation mode for the past couple of weeks, gathering ideas and planning out the new year ahead. Since getting home from tour at the end of September things have really slowed down, which has given me the time for a much needed recharge.

On the horizon there is lots of excitement. First, I've got a new single coming out this Friday Nov. 8th. The song is called "Drunk and In Love". It was written a few years back and is truly a winters song about longing for the one you love, snowed in from a storm, in a bar full of strangers. This song is off of an EP I recorded live off the floor in Norrtalje, Sweden last spring and the whole 7 song offering is set to be released Nov. 15 entitled "The Rootsy House Sessions". We are making a limited edition run of 10 Inch vinyl, if you'd like to get your hands on one please let me know, these will be ready in December! I will be touring this EP, along with a brand new full length acoustic album this February in Europe.

The new full length album is being mastered at this moment and is set to be released worldwide in February. Believe it or not, this is the first time I've ever recorded a stripped down acoustic album and I'm so excited to share it. It was recorded in two days this past August in Edmonton with my mentor Scott Franchuk who also engineered Cry Baby. We had the incredible Kevin Breit add some of his beautiful guitar work to a few of the songs. Kevin is one of Canada's greatest musicians, I first saw him with Harry Manx at Edmonton Folk Festival when I was 17 years old, he's played with Norah Jones and Celine Dion. It's a real honour to have him add his touch to these songs. More news on this album will be coming up soon, but first keep your ears peeled this Friday for "Drunk and In Love"
